Highline College
Founded in 1961 and the first community colleges in King County Washington, Highline now is one of the most diverse educational institutions in the state. Highline College has close connection to the community. Seeing the need to support and grow jobs in our region, Highline College has leveraged economic development as a cornerstone to support businesses in our community. Business Development programs at the College include the SBDC, StartZone and the Center of Excellence for Global Trade and Supply Chain Management.
Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The Washington Small Business Development Center is a partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Washington State University and other Washington Institutions of higher education and economic development organizations. Funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. All opinions, conclusions or recommendations expressed are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the view of the SBA.
Small Business Administration (SBA)
Through the SBA and Congress, the SBDC receives a foundational grant to provide no cost confidential advising services to the local community. All funding from Congress requires a $1 for $1 match.
Soundside Alliance – Five Cities One Powerful Destination
Soundside Alliance along with Highline College provided the vision to bring economic development support to the business community. The plan was not only to help the start and grow but to provide support on all aspects of their business.
