Participants will learn how to:
- Identify the components of a business plan including mission and vision statements, and strategic goals as clear reference points that communicate their business philosophy
- Choose a marketing strategy to best support recruitment, retention, and ongoing communication with families
- Explore tools to assist in managing, monitoring, and measuring their financial goals
- Determine eligibility to access city, county, and state resources for tuition subsidy, facility upgrades, and program operation funding
- Identify staffing needs and understand the legal compensation, benefits, insurance, and workplace safety requirements.

The Reality Check series will take participants through the business plan development and complete a rough draft of their business plan. The series is broken down into four intensive modules. On graduation day, participants will have the opportunity to share their business plan or their business pitch.
